On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the contributions and achievements of women across all fields, particularly in providing, managing, and promoting knowledge and learning. We recognise their vital role in community building and advancing national and global development goals. We believe that knowledge is the foundation of positive change, and empowering women begins with safeguarding their fundamental rights, especially the right to education and access to knowledge resources, which open doors to creativity and leadership.
SPL is dedicated to empowering all community members by offering a knowledge-based environment that enables women and girls to expand their horizons, enhance their creative abilities, and contribute to building a better future. Books are a gateway to innovation, creativity, and excellence, and libraries serve as nurturing spaces that provide the tools needed to achieve their aspirations. On this occasion, we encourage every woman and girl to make the most of the educational and knowledge resources we provide, and to embrace reading as a key source of empowerment. We also urge institutions and the community to invest in the education and empowerment of women and girls, as building a prosperous society begins with nurturing the minds of its people
