From Meer Ramadan distribution to heartfelt Iftar gatherings and Kiswat Al Eid, FOCP’s collaborative efforts shine bright during Holy Month of Ramadan
Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) continues to demonstrate their dedication to bringing hope and joy to cancer patients and their families, especially during the Holy Month of Ramadan. With a vision to eradicate the impact of cancer on individuals’ lives, FOCP’s initiatives and activities during Ramadan exemplify their commitment to holistic care and support for those affected by cancer.
FOCP Extends Ramadan Blessings to the Wasit Suburb Council through Meer Ramadan Initiative
As part of their annual tradition, FOCP organised the distribution of Meer Ramadan (food boxes) for cancer patients and survivors. This year, in collaboration with Esaad Center and UAE Food Bank, who donated 400 food boxes, these joy-bringing gifts were distributed throughout the Wasit Suburb Council, facilitated by the invaluable support of the Sharjah Volunteer Center as well as the Department of Suburbs Affairs in the Emirate of Sharjah.
Collaborative efforts through Kiswat Al Eid uplift numerous children during Eid
In another touching initiative, FOCP organised Kiswat Al Eid for children battling cancer, collaborating with Dubai Outlet Mall and 8 stores to provide Eid clothes for 14 children aged 3 to 18. To ensure a decent experience, Sharjah Children Center provided transportation, while the Sharjah Volunteer Center’s dedicated personnel offered coordination and support throughout the event. Together, they brought joy and happiness to these young cancer patients during the Eid celebration with additional support and donations from the Basel Watch Co, The Giving Movement, Xpressions, Nishat Linen, Carters/U.S Polo, Big Brands Factory Outlet, Brand Culture, Petit Bateau, Super dry, Lulu Hypermarket, and Piero Pizza & Pasta.
FOCP’s heartfelt Iftar gathering brings joy to patients and their families
FOCP’s Iftar Gathering, a heartfelt event for cancer patients and survivors, was made possible this year through a generous donation from the FOCP community. This incredible support enabled FOCP to host a memorable iftar gathering for 200 patients and their families at the Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort & Spa, providing a platform for individuals affected by cancer to come together, share a meal, and offer mutual support.
While reflecting their core values of compassion, collaboration, leadership, and advocacy, FOCP’s initiatives during Ramadan showed their passionate resolve in enhancing the well-being of cancer patients, survivors, and their families. Through these initiatives, FOCP continues to be a shining example of hope, ensuring that every individual’s journey with cancer is met with a positive outlook, understanding, care, and resilience.
