As the eldest of four siblings in India, Dr. Jamal embraced leadership early on, developing a strong sense of responsibility and accountability. “Being the eldest, I naturally embraced a leadership role,” he reflects. Inspired by his resilient parents and entrepreneurial relatives, his passion for business grew. Through that, his family also became his source of motivation and encouragement. Dr.Jamal’s family—his parents, siblings, wife, and children—has been his unwavering support system.
In the UAE, Dr.Jamal saw immense potential to align his business with the country’s vision of growth. “The UAE’s emphasis on innovation and sustainability mirrored my personal goals,” he says. The Empower Group of Companies was created to provide aspiring entrepreneurs a platform to succeed while contributing to the economy’s growth. One of his core beliefs is empowering women to take leadership roles, as he firmly believes their contributions are vital to the UAE’s success.
Building a business in a foreign market had challenges, particularly in establishing trust and navigating regulations. “There were times I sought investment and was told ‘Later,'” Dr. Jamal recalls. Despite rejection, he stayed persistent, and eventually, one of those contacts returned, leading to a successful partnership.
His message to women aspiring to start businesses is clear: “Believe in your capabilities and take that first step.” He believes success comes from aligning one’s business with passions, building strong support networks, and cultivating resilience. “Women can empower themselves and others by lifting each other and shaping the future of business,” Dr. Jamal adds.
Looking to the future, Dr. Jamal vision is to expand Empower Group, establish it as a globally recognized brand, and guide startups. “My goal is to leave a legacy of innovation, inclusivity, and positive contributions to the UAE’s future vision,” he concludes. One of his upcoming projects is the creation of an “Autopilot Entrepreneurship Program” designed to empower the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs.
