Dubai ….
Ramadan is the month of divine unity where humans wish to become one with the divine consciousness by being kinder, compassionate and dedicated to the wellbeing of the world. Funun Arts along with Pullman Deira Creek City Centre organized “Cherish: Time of Giving” to celebrate the union of 25 artists with 25 talented students from Special Needs Future Development Centre and North American International School to pay homage to 25 years of Pullman Dubai Creek City Centre. The beautiful art collage was created by the artists and the students at the Pullman Dubai Creek City Centre.
The collaborative artwork has been envisioned by Shiba Khan and Farah Khan, the founders of Funun Arts. Both the Khan Sisters were keen to emphasis the need to be compassionate to make the world a more beautiful place. “The holy month of Ramadan is the best time to start any noble venture which is built on love and kindness. One should love everyone irrespective of the barriers and boundaries that try to divide us. One should be kind to people and be more inclusive because the world needs more and more people like this.” says Shiba Khan. The art event aimed at imparting knowledge, promoting inclusion, and creating an artistic masterpiece that could be a part of the permanent art collection of Pullman Dubai Creek City Centre.
“We are grateful for all the blessings that have been showered upon us. We are artists and the only way to share our blessings is through art. With the support of our loving artists, Funun could organize “Cherish” which became a memorable day to artists and students alike. We believe in equal opportunities and sharing of resources in the creative world. The kids literally astonished us with their talent. Given the right opportunity and ample supply of resources, they can create wonders. We are blessed to have them with us in “Cherish”. says Farah Khan.
Commenting on the event, the Cluster General Manager Nishan Silva stated, “We are absolutely honored to have hosted the students of Special Needs Future Development Centre and North American International School and their families for the live art and Iftar at our hotel. We put people at the heart of everything we do, we are grateful to have collaborated with them and be able to bring smiles on the faces of the kids and families, during this month of giving. We are thankful for the artwork created by the collaboration of artists from Funun Arts and these talented students and to have the same showcased at our Artist Playground by Pullman at t-Lounge by Dilmah for all to see”.
The art event was graced with the presence of many eminent personalities from different walks of life. The distinguished panel of guests included Mr. Mohammad Al Aidroos (Director, Expert Mark Group) Mr Saeed Al Shamsi (Vice Chairman, Expert Mark Group), H.E. Yaqoob Ali, Ms Asma Al Janahi (Initiative Manager), Ms Lubna Naeem (Director of operations, Gargash Hospital), Ms Pamela Serena (Mrs. UAE Universe), Mrs. Nada Al Barazi (Eminent Artist), Ms. Maitha Al Balooshi (Emirati Emcee) and Mr Ahmed Al Awadhi.
The guests took their time to spend with the students who were creating their artistic masterpiece. The guests also joined the artists and the students and painted with them, which turned out to be a great confidence booster for the students. They interacted with the parents and appreciated them for their tireless efforts in bringing the children to the forefront.
“Cherish” commenced with a brief introduction where the 25 artists and the students interacted with each other. Each artist- student duo was supplied with t- shirts, paints, and brushes by Funun Arts. Each duo was given a canvas with a reference picture which they had to recreate on the canvas. T
he artists guided the students and created their piece of the puzzle. These 25 puzzle pieces were later put together to form a beautiful painting. Pullman Deira Creek City Centre will be displaying this artwork on their premises as memorabilia of their 25th anniversary. The hotel authorities expressed their utmost pleasure in hosting the amazing group of students and artists and stated that the experience of having the incredibly talented students has left them in awe.
Funun Arts has been working with the SNF Center since 2016 and has been a great supporter of the students who deserve a platform to showcase their talents. The students were also a part of the Annual Student Art Show organized by Funun in 2022.
The award ceremony was followed by an Iftar where students, artists and guests shared beautiful moments together.
