A delegation of Pakistan Journalist Forum lead by Tahir Munir Tahir, President PJF called on Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi at Pakistan Embassy today.
The other members of the delegation included. Saadia Abbasi, Muzaffar Rizvi, Mr. Inayat ur Rahman, Arshad Chaudhry and Kashan Tumsil.
The media delegation discussed wide range of topics including positive projection of Pakistan in media, serving community through highlighting their contributions in the society and suggesting ideas for community welfare.
Ambassador Faisal Tirmizi briefed them about various steps being taken for community welfare by Pakistan Embassy in UAE. He mentioned that Embassy is pursuing Exchange of offenders Agreement with UAE and is hopeful for its implementation soon. The agreement will allow Pakistani prisoners in UAE to spend some duration of their sentence in Pakistan, which is a long awaited demand from Pakistani community.
PJF appreciated special attention of Ambassador Tirmizi in promotion of Pakistani culture through various cultural event in last few months Saadia Abbasi, Secretay General PJF suggested to increase such events as these are the source of cultural projection and help people know about Pakistani culture and traditions.
In the end Ambassador Tirmizi appreciated role of media in UAE in projection of Pakistan’s positive image in the country. He encouraged them to highlight Pakistani culture, food, sports and high achievers of the society through their stories.
