Department of Medical Lab Technology at Malir University of Science and Technology organized a day-long workshop on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) with the collaboration of the Research Skill and Development Centre (RSDC), Liaqat National Hospital (LNH).
The workshop commenced with a warm welcome note delivered by Mr. Mudassir Ali, Assistant Professor of the MLT Department at Malir University.
The chief instructor, Mr. Rahul Kumar, along with his team members Amash Bin Irfan, Maria Komal, and Muhammad Kawish, provided an in-depth briefing on CPR to the participants. Mr. Kumar emphasized that CPR is a simple first-aid procedure that can be easily applied to assist individuals suffering from a heart attack.
He emphasized the importance of everyone receiving training in this basic yet critical life-saving technique. The workshop incorporated interactive exercises and role-playing scenarios to enable participants to improve their decision-making and teamwork skills in high-pressure situations. Participants actively engaged in discussions, seeking clarification, and guidance from the trainers.
Dr. Syeda Sadaf Akber, the Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences at Malir University, shed light on the increasing risks of heart ailments among young individuals, underscoring the significance of equipping participants with CPR knowledge and skills.
To ensure effective training, the workshop attendees were divided into groups and provided comprehensive instruction on CPR procedures.
Concluding the workshop, Dr. Tipu Sultan, the Chancellor of Malir University, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the entire team of trainers. He extended his appreciation for their dedication and hard work in successfully conducting the workshop. Dr. Sultan also presented a token of appreciation to the team members of the Research Skill and Development Centre. The workshop garnered significant attendance from students across different departments of the university.
