Bazm Urdu Dubai is a non-religious, non-political, and non-profit organization with an exclusive dedication to the preservation of the Urdu language. Its primary mission is to organize programs aimed at promoting Urdu and ensuring its reach to every household. Recently, the organization celebrated its seventeenth gathering at a farmhouse in Ajman, marking the culmination of ten successful years for Bazm Urdu Dubai.
The event commenced with a performance of a celebratory song by Saima Naqvi, a senior member of Bazm Urdu, commemorating the decade-long journey of the organization. In this gathering, Saima Naqvi introduced a new program, “Bazm Urdu Studio.” The inaugural episode of this program was conducted on this occasion, with plans for more episodes in the future.
Saima Naqvi, serving as the host for the seventeenth gathering, introduced all the guests present in the studio. The inclusion of young children alongside distinguished personalities added a delightful touch to the occasion. Students from various schools, each portraying a notable Urdu literary figure, actively participated in the event.
Among the participants were Qanita Fahim from English High School, Bano Qudsia represented by Mustansar Hussain Tariq, Ariba Khan as Hajiya Masroor, Natascha Saleem from English Language Private School, Dr. Syeda Arifah Zahra portrayed by Ismat Chughtai, Syed Adeel Raza as Shaukat Thanvi, Bisma Rafiq Al Deen Qura Al Ain Haider, Sana Imran from Pakistan Education Academy, and Ismat Chughtai represented by Asmat Chaghtai.
The organizer, Aishaal Zainab Naqvi, engaged the literary figures in a question-and-answer session, during which the children eloquently responded, showcasing their profound knowledge of Urdu literature. Literary excerpts from the works of prominent Urdu writers were also recited during the program.
Members Saleem Zehabi and Zubeida Khan contributed beautifully expressed views, adding further charm to the program. The event concluded with the presentation of certificates and gifts to the children for their outstanding performances. Rehan Khan, the founder and general secretary of Bazm Urdu Dubai, along with his wife, actively participated, enhancing the vibrancy of the event.
In his closing remarks, Rehan Khan expressed gratitude to all the guests and highlighted the success of Bazm Urdu Dubai in achieving its objectives. He appreciated the efforts of all members and thanked the parents for their support.
