The Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) Toastmasters Club held its 133rd meeting on 27th August at the PAD Seminar Hall, with over 40 attendees participating both in person and online. The meeting was opened by President Mirza Abid Hussain, who delivered the presidential address, setting the tone for the evening. Farooq Gujjar, the Sergeant at Arms, then informed the attendees of the housekeeping rules.
The meeting welcomed distinguished guests, including Past Area Director Wafa Khan and Imran Akram, Immediate Past President Usman Mufti, and the President of the E& Toastmasters Club Bilal Hameed. It was especially heartening to see the participation of youngsters and teenagers, adding a dynamic energy to the gathering.
The session featured three prepared speeches, a “Word of the Day” presentation by Mirza Sajid Hussain, and an engaging networking and tea break session. Rashif George conducted a lively Table Topics session, where guests had the chance to come on stage, overcome their fear of public speaking, and sharpen their impromptu thinking skills.
Three evaluators provided constructive feedback, followed by a general evaluation session. President Mirza Abid Hussain concluded the meeting with an awards ceremony, honoring Guest Reshmal and Ice Breaker Speaker Talal Ahmed. The positive feedback from guests highlighted their eagerness to join the club.
In his closing remarks, President Mirza Abid Hussain emphasized, “This is your club. We formed this club to add value to the community and help members become better versions of themselves. This platform helps you overcome the fear of public speaking, master effective communication, and develop leadership skills in an enjoyable environment. We urge our community to come forward and learn these essential soft skills.”
