Mansoor Qureshi, an accomplished entrepreneur, talent partner, and community leader, was officially sworn in today as a member/Advisor of the Asian American Advisory Board for the Governor of Virginia. The oath ceremony, held in the heart of Richmond, marks a significant milestone in Qureshi’s continued commitment to public service and community empowerment.
With a deep dedication to serving the diverse communities of Virginia, Mr. Qureshi expressed his gratitude to Governor Glenn Youngkin and Secretary Kelly Gee for the opportunity to contribute to the state’s growth and development. During his address, Mr. Qureshi emphasized the importance of his new role in bridging the gap between immigrant communities and the state government, ensuring that their voices are heard and their needs are met.
“I am deeply honored to serve on the Asian American Advisory Board and to represent a community that has contributed so much to the vibrancy of Virginia and the United States,” said Mr. Mansoor Qureshi. “This role is not just a title to me—it’s a mission to uplift and empower the Asian American community and to strengthen our collective future.”
The ceremony was led by Secretary Kelly Gee. Following the ceremony, Secretary Gee administered the oath, presented Qureshi with a pin and certificate, and officially welcomed him to the advisory board. The event, filled with pride and responsibility, underscored the importance of unity within the diverse communities of Virginia. She also mentioned that she was very excited to have Mansoor on the Governor’s team and looks forward to seeing him do a wonderful job helping one of the best communities. She emphasized that this was one of the most important boards. The moment was made even more special by Mr. Qureshi’s presentation of an Ajrak, a traditional Sindhi shawl symbolizing hospitality and cultural heritage, to Secretary Gee.
Also in attendance was Juan Pablo Segura, Chief Deputy Secretary, a close friend and supporter of Mr. Qureshi, who congratulated him on this significant achievement. “This is just the beginning,” said Segura. “Mansoor has always been a dedicated leader, and I’m excited to see the positive impact he will have in this new role.”
As an immigrant who arrived in the United States in 2001, Qureshi shared his personal journey of resilience and determination. From his early days with limited resources, he has since become a prominent figure in Virginia’s business, media, and film industries. In addition to his role as an entrepreneur and talent partner, Qureshi is the anchor of Capital Corner, a program that covers inspiring stories and political developments across the United States.
Mr. Qureshi’s focus as an advisor is clear: to connect immigrant communities to state resources, address challenges, and celebrate achievements. With over 700,000 Asian Americans in Virginia, including 400,000 Indian, Pakistani, and Muslim residents, he aims to harness the collective power of these communities to influence decisions and create meaningful change.
“This is about more than just advocacy—it’s about unity,” said Mr. Qureshi. “Our voices have the power to shape Virginia’s future. Together, we can ensure that every community has the resources and opportunities needed to thrive.”
As Mr. Qureshi embarks on this exciting new journey, he remains committed to serving his community with pride and purpose. His future endeavors include organizing workshops, town hall meetings, business networking events, and fostering global connections to benefit the people of Virginia.
