Under the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid
Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai
Media Council, the "Ramadan in Dubai" 1445 AH campaign was
initiated. This campaign aims to harmonize the endeavors of both the
government and private sectors in commemorating the sacred month of
Ramadan in Dubai, showcasing the festive spirit that embellishes the
emirate upon the advent of this holy period.
His Excellency, Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of the
Department of Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities in Dubai, received
Sheikh Mishary Rashid Alafasy at Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma
Al Maktoum Mosque in Zabeel, who came as a guest of (Ramadan in
Dubai) this year to perform Taraweeh prayers on 15-16 Ramadan and
for the first time with the participation of "Muezzin Al-Freij", as more than
(15) thousand prayers of men and women came from all UAE emirates
to perform the Taraweeh prayer behind the reader Mishary bin Rashid
Alafasy and listen to Muezzin Al-Freij in Dubai readers' event.
Jasim Mohammed Al Khazraji, the head of the “Dubai Readers” event
team, stated that Sheikh Mishary Rashid Alafasy led both the Isha and
Taraweeh prayers on the 15 th of Ramadan, with the participation of
"Muezzin Al-Freij" Mohammed Yousuf Mohammed. On the 16 th of
Ramadan, he led the prayers alongside Muezzin Al-Freij, Abdullah Aref
Al Badawi. Worshipers enjoyed the melodious call to prayer by Muezzin
Al-Freij, which attracted thousands of attendees from various Emirates
of the UAE. He highlighted that the idea of Muezzin Al-Freij was chosen
this year to enhance the aesthetic of the Dubai Readers' recitations,
reflecting the sentiments of fasting individuals in the Ramadan
atmosphere filled with mercy and forgiveness. This choice was made in
celebration of the blessed month, embracing its spirituality and acts of
worship, while hoping for acceptance and blessings from Allah for these
deeds.
During the blessed month of Ramadan, the mosques of Dubai resonate
with the voices of 80 reciters who recite the Quran with the most
melodious and captivating tones in the Arab and Islamic world. This is
made possible through the "Dubai Readers" event, which annually hosts
a constellation of renowned reciters from the Islamic world to revive the
tradition of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. They lead the
Taraweeh prayers, perform the night prayers, and offer recitations of the
Holy Quran, thus enriching the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan.
